About

Founded in Coeur d’Alene in 1983, Miller Stauffer Architect’s multi-disciplinary practice brings together specialists in planning, programming, architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. We believe that the best design is produced in a unified collaborative culture that recruits, trains, and empowers talented professionals to do their best work.

We have created a single, team based practice that values continuous learning, which we feel is essential to creative excellence. We ensure the consistent quality of our designs and service to clients by maintaining a moderate-sized staff that has been stable for over forty years.

Our Values

Diverse Project Experience

Miller Stauffer Architects specializes in architecture, interior design, landscape, and master planning services for government, educational, medical, commercial, civic, cultural, residential, mixed-use projects in the Inland Northwest. While the firm’s work is diverse, ranging from small tenant improvements and custom residential to multi-story mixed use high-rises and multi-acre parks, all of our projects share MSA’s commitment to design that is in harmony with the natural environment, client values, and user needs.

Integrated Approach to Design Excellence

We are dedicated to design excellence that integrates function, aesthetics, and environmentally sustainable practices. Our projects have received local and regional recognition for creatively meeting overall goals and program needs while remaining responsive to climatic and contextual issues. We design with the understanding that successful buildings reflect the ideas that make each client and program unique.
