Anthony's Restaurant
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Nestled along the edge of the pond, Anthony’s Restaurant was designed to immerse guests in its natural setting. Floor-to-ceiling glazing, warm wood detailing, and a strong indoor-outdoor connection allow the building to feel both expansive and grounded. By integrating indoor and outdoor dining experiences, the design encourages fluid movement between landscape and structure—blurring the boundary between environment and experience.
Seating along the open kitchen edge invites diners into the process, fostering transparency and interaction. This deliberate layout honors the culinary arts as performance—inviting conversation, observation, and connection. The result is a space that not only nourishes, but also engages—where architecture becomes a stage for shared experience.
The bar is thoughtfully lowered behind the counter to maintain clear sightlines to the pond, ensuring the view remains a focal point throughout the space. Large pivoting windows open to the exterior, inviting in natural light and fresh air. This seamless indoor-outdoor connection reinforces the design’s intent—to create a dining experience that stays visually and physically connected to its surroundings.
