How long does the design process take?
The timeline varies by project size and complexity. A typical residential remodel takes 2–4 months for design and documentation, while a new construction project may take 4–8 months. Construction timelines are separate and depend on the contractor and project scope. We provide a detailed schedule at the start of each project.
How much do architectural services cost?
Architectural fees are typically 8–15% of the total construction cost, depending on the project type, complexity, and level of service required. We offer a free initial consultation to discuss your project and provide a fee proposal tailored to your scope.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We prepare and submit all required permit documents to the appropriate jurisdictions and coordinate with city and county planning departments on your behalf. We track the approval process and address any comments from reviewers.
What information do you need to get started?
To start, it helps to have a general idea of your project goals, budget range, and timeline. For existing buildings, we will need the property address and any available drawings. For new construction, a site survey and soils report may be required. We guide you through everything needed at each phase.
Can you work with my contractor?
Absolutely. We can work with your existing contractor or help you select one through a competitive bid process. We maintain a collaborative relationship with contractors throughout construction to ensure the design intent is carried through to the finished product.
How involved do I need to be in the process?
As much or as little as you prefer. We provide regular updates and require your input at key decision points, but we handle all the technical details so you can focus on the big picture. Most clients find a monthly check-in during design phases works well, with more frequent communication during construction.

Image Performance Testing
Testing: Comparing image formats and file sizes for optimal page load speed without sacrificing quality. Upload test images through the media library and compare visual quality vs file size.
– Target under 200KB per image for good performance
– Use WebP format where possible (smaller file sizes, supported by all modern browsers)
– Compress images before uploading using a tool like TinyPNG (tinypng.com)
– Check page load time using browser DevTools (F12 > Network tab)
